Kamala Harris: Democratic Running Mate

Earlier this week, Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden chose Kamala Harris as his running mate for the 2020 Presidential election. Harris is a politician, lawyer, and senator for California. Oh, and did I forget to mention that Harris is a woman of color. If the United States votes the democratic pair into office, Mrs. Harris would not only be the first woman Vice President, but the first African-American and South Asian-American to hold the position. Harris was born on October 20, 1964 to a Jamaican father and Indian mother. She grew up in Oakland, California and attended Howard University. She later attended the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.

Kamala Harris had previously been in the 2020 Presidential election along side Joe Biden. However, in December 2019 she dropped out of the race due to a lack of funds for her campaign.

Despite whatever political party you may identify with, I believe it can be said with out a doubt that this is a historic time in American history. Many girls in America and the World can identify with Mrs. Harris, including ME! It is so amazing to see someone who I can identify with doing such incredible things.
