Hi, I’m Chandler, the creator of Exposure Matters. I am a college student from New Jersey who is curious about everything.
I grew up in a school system with no black female administrators. On my first day of high school, I was greeted by my principal, who just happened to be an African-American woman. That is when I had an epiphany that exposure matters. A career in school administration became a career I could see myself having. That same year I had surgery, and I had an African-American female surgeon. A career as a surgeon became a career I could see myself having. In both these instances, if I had not been exposed to these women of color holding these positions I would not have fathomed the idea of these career choices.
I created this platform so that girls of color can be introduced to professions where women of color are underrepresented. Our mission is to expose our audience to these careers while also motivating them and empowering them to be great.
Because many girls of color are not afforded the opportunity to meet women of color in careers where they are underrepresented…
